Tiny 'tini

Submitted by Eliana on Tue, 11/02/2010 - 7:29pm

Daddy asked Mommy if she wanted a martini this evening before dinner. Mommy said, "That sounds awesome!" and I said, "Want 'tini, too!" So Daddy made tiny 'tinis for me and William with milk and chocolate syrup in the shaker. They were yummy.

Mmmm

I love pumpkins (especially on Halloween)

Submitted by William on Sat, 10/30/2010 - 8:00pm
Let's go right to the start. We found the pumpkins at the Farmer's Market Oct. 7, 2010. Then we brought the pumpkins home. Then we never carved them until today and now we named them Londonderry and Boo Boo.

Londonderry
Why? Londonderry is a big pumpkin and because it is thick like the Londonderry wall in Ireland. Now, Boo Boo. Boo Boo because the drawing that Eliana drew on it, like you see in the picture, is actually boo boos.

Boo Boo

The End. That's a true story.

Say "ch... Oh, no! There's a baby by the pumpkin!"

to Belle

September 2002 – October 27, 2010

We brought Belle home from the humane society in November of 2002 as a tiny puppy. Last night we said goodbye to her. She was one of the sweetest dogs ever. She was often too exuberant for her own good, especially when welcoming visitors. In the end, that is what got her in trouble. The weather had been miserable for days and we were all feeling cooped up. So yesterday when the wind and rain let up a bit she decided it was time to go for a run. I hope she enjoyed her last “bad dog” adventure and wasn't too scared when she somehow got out onto the highway. I hope she was just running up to greet someone in a car thinking they might stop to pet her. Darren got a call from the highway patrol while I was at work. The wonderful state trooper brought our dog home to us. She looked great. There was barely a scratch on her. Her collar had come off when she was hit and we are very grateful that he found it so he could return her to us. We are also thankful that she was the only one hurt in the accident. It could have been so much worse. We are sorry that she went this way. There will always be what-ifs. She was such a great dog, staying in the yard 99 times out of 100. Today she would have been lying in the sun in the front yard chewing on a ball. The weather is great. We're going to miss our Bellie Boo Boo. We hope to see her running to greet us at the gates of heaven.

Sick

Submitted by Eliana on Wed, 10/06/2010 - 1:14pm

Me and my baby doll are both sick. Sometimes I cough so much at night that I throw up, so I keep a bucket by me. Today when I was trying to nap, my baby doll was keeping me up. She kept throwing up and I had to help her by holding her over the bucket. Poor baby. I hope she feels better soon.

Jackie turned one!

On Saturday we celebrated Jackie's first birthday. I was so excited that I couldn't sleep. It was a good thing we had a long, boring car ride to the party. I finally gave in and took a nap. The party was at Jack's aunt Lissa's house. We ate good food. Then there was a yummy cake. We sang Happy Birthday, but Jackie didn't know how to blow out his candle so I helped him. He made a big chocolatey mess with his cake. After he had a bath, we helped him open presents. Then we got to play with Jack's new toys! What a fun party!

First Gymnastics Class

Submitted by Eliana on Sat, 09/18/2010 - 11:42am

I had my first gymnastics class today! I also had a new dance class. I was a little shy at dance because it was a new room, new songs and a new teacher. But once we got in the gym, I was completely at home. I ran, jumped, balanced, swung on the bar, did headstands and summersaults. We went twice around the gym in a circuit and then got free time. I mostly kept going around the circuit, just faster with a few breaks to spin hula hoop or walk on the taller balance beam. My favorite was the trampolines. My least favorite where the headstands and forward rolls. I do those all the time at home.

Meeting Roger, Sluggy, Dirt Driver, and don't forget Wormy

Submitted by William on Fri, 09/17/2010 - 7:35pm

I always wanted a pet worm to keep until it dies and I finally got one. Here is the story of when I met my new pets Roger, Sluggy, Dirt Driver and Wormy.

One time I was walking to the mail and when I got to the mail I met Roger. And Roger is a strong name. So Roger is strong enough to lift a big rock and he is strong enough to push a bigger rock. Roger is only a black beetle but he is strong enough to push and lift rocks on his back!

Sluggy and Dirt Driver

Now we are on to Sluggy. My mom actually found Sluggy and then she put him in the sandbox cover. That's where I met Sluggy. I named him Sluggy because he's a slug. Sluggy is probably going to stay in a shell we put in his tank.

Now on to Dirt Driver. Dirt Driver is a slug, like Sluggy. I met Dirt Driver in the same place as Sluggy. Mom found them in the basil leaves. Why I named him Dirt Driver is because he is fast on dirt. I always see him either being still or going 7 mph on the dirt.

Now on to Wormy. Wormy is just a worm. I found Wormy in the compost bucket where Dad got dirt to put in the tank. And that's where I found Wormy. Worms can help farms. So if we have a farm, we will bring Wormy and let him out. And when he pops back up we will take him and put him back in the tank.

The End. That's a true story.

Lonely days

Submitted by Eliana on Tue, 09/07/2010 - 11:15am

It's been lonely at my house the last couple of weeks. William started first grade and is gone all day. It was really hard for me at first. I'm excited to start going to my new daycare. When I go to Tracy's house there will be lots of other kids my age there. She has a playground and a lot of fun toys. I've visited twice. The last time I washed my hands four times! Twice in the kitchen and twice in the bathroom. I like to smell the different soaps that people have and feel the slippery suds on my fingers.

Speaking of the bathroom, I'm really a big girl now. I always go potty all by myself whenever I need to go. I almost never have any accidents, not even at night! Last week I gave all my leftover diapers to Jackie and now I even wear underwear to bed!

I'm such a big girl! I love to talk and tell stories. I have lots of things to say and questions, questions, questions. "Why, what's that, what you doing?" I like to read stories, too. I always ask to have my bedtime stories left on the pillow at bedtime so I can sleep with them.

It's my birthday! Two stories

Submitted by William on Fri, 08/20/2010 - 12:07pm

Yesterday we went to the MN zoo with my mom, Seth, Robbie, Forrest, Hallie, and Ellie. At the zoo, we played on the bone playground and the Woodland Adventure playground. We saw bears and a slideshow of pictures of bears. The bears were fishing when we were watching them and we saw exploding volcanoes (they were not real ones, they were only squirting water that's how I could tell they weren't real). We saw butterflies. And we saw divers in the fish tanks. We saw dolphins and sharks. The End.

Now onto the next story...

It's my birthday! I'm 6! I was going to Taco Johns, but I changed my mind to Space Aliens. The End.
