  • My jokes

Submitted by Eliana on Wed, 09/21/2011 - 3:58pm

Today when we were driving in the car, I told these two funny jokes.

"Once, when I was outside, I saw a mosquito getting people bites."

    "I have another one.
Once there was a little girl. Her was funny!"

  • A week in my life

Submitted by Eliana on Wed, 09/14/2011 - 11:43pm

Sunday - I go to church where I first grab a fun bag of stuff to do. Then I try to be brave enough to go up with William to hear the children's message. Finally, I work on being quiet when it's pastor's turn to talk.

Monday - We started homeschool group every other week. The first time was this week. It was fun to play with the other three-year-olds while William was in his classes.

Tuesday - I get to play with my friends at Tracy's house! I know the first letters in a lot of my friend's names, especially Z for Zachary, who I am going to marry. I tried to ask him, but he didn't hear me. Or maybe he didn't understand. Karen is helping me with that. I get to go to speech with her on Tuesday afternoons.

Wednesday - Another morning at Tracy's house! In the afternoon, we bring William to piano lessons and run some errand. Today we helped Mommy in her Sunday school room. I made two paper bag lions to hang on the wall for decoration.

Thursday - Homeschool park days are done now, so all I have is speech in the afternoon.

Friday - I can't wait for Janie's class! I'm very excited. I thought I was done with ECFE after last year, but I loved Janie's class so much that Mom put me back in it.

Saturday - Maybe there will be another Johnnie football game. I love riding the bus from the parking lot to the stadium. And the Johnnie rats and Bennie dancers are fun to watch. We always have great snacks, run around, and play. The whole family gets excited for games. The weather has been fabulous for both games so far. I like that word, fabulous!

I know, I have a busy calendar for a three-year-old. But if you'd ever like to get together to play dress-up or dolls, I'll try to squeeze you in!

After sticking J96B3IE on the side of the tub with foam letters: "That spells 'lullaby.'"

Pulling up to the cash machine at the bank's drive-thru: "I don't want cash! I want stickers!"

While sharing a Shirley Temple with my cousin Lauren after Great-grandma Richard's funeral, Mommy said, "Eliana's in heaven right now." I said: "What???"

In the library book store, excitedly holding up a steamy romance novel with an amorous couple on the cover: "Look, Momma! My first chapter book!"

When the cat returned from getting shots at the vet: "Did her get a band-aid?"

Mama, can we play water balloons? (looking up at the hot air balloon water tower)
Feed the world, ducklings in a bag. (changing the lyrics of Feed the Birds)
What's that under your drawers? (pointing to Mommy's dresser)
I am wearing my sleeping crown.
Mommy, when you grow up, you will be strong and wise like my daddy.

(I may add to this post as I think of more cute and funny things to say.)

  • Fun weekend

Submitted by Eliana on Tue, 06/28/2011 - 7:38pm

This weekend we went to the parade! I got lots of candy, tatoos, and a slinky. I was really excited to see the horses. But my favorite thing was dancing along with the marching bands.

The next day we went to my mommy's cousin's wedding. There were lots of babies there! It was really fun. I wore nail polish and my tatoos from the parade. I got lots of compliments!

Then we went to the lake. It was chilly and the water was so deep! After I begged to have my swimsuit on, I decided I didn't really want to swim after all. William had lots of fun, though.

Another exciting thing at our house is the bird's nest by our front door. The birds are always singing. Yesterday mommy held the camera up to take a picture so we could see how many eggs there were. There are 5! I hope we get to see the baby chicks when they hatch!

  • Bam Bam Ball

Submitted by Eliana on Thu, 06/23/2011 - 11:26am

We haven't had ball this week because of the rain, but I'm having fun with it! I was very shy at first. It still takes me a while to warm up to the game. I sit on the bench until my coach puts the pink helmet on my head and the bat in my hand and then the smile comes on my face! I even field the balls when I'm not too busy digging in the dirt or preoccupied with getting my giant glove to stay on my hand. I love it when the crowd cheers for me. I'm the only girl on my team, which is a big reason why I'm so shy at first. But three of the boys are friends from ECFE and one is a friend from daycare, so I certainly have a big cheering section. There are plenty of other girls on the field, just not on my team. Here is a video of one of my first at-bats. Enjoy!

  • The Nukie Fairy

Submitted by Eliana on Sat, 05/07/2011 - 10:55pm

I'm a big girl now! On Thursday I decided to hang my nukies in a tree so the nukie fairy could come and take them. I knew she would bring me something special in return. And my teeth, despite all my persistent wiggling, were refusing to come out. So I finally resorted to the nuks. We put them in a bag, along with a dandelion for the nukie fairy, and hung them on a tree in the backyard. I left them hanging there all night. When I woke up, the bag was on my pillow, but instead of nukies inside there was an electric Hello Kitty toothbrush, princess jammies and princess stickers! It was very exciting. I brushed my teeth a lot of times that first day. But at bedtime the newness wore off and I got sad and mad. It helped to think about the little babies who now have nuks. I like to think of the story Mommy told me when I asked her what happened to my dandelion. I made sure to ask her to tell it again so I would remember it for you.

"The nukie fairy brought the dandelion home and put it in a special place where she could always look at it and remember, 'That special girl, Eliana, who gave me FIVE nukies last night! What a haul!'"

One day I'll figure out how to fall asleep easily without my nuk. But right now, I'm getting pretty tired. Wish me luck! Good night!

Good job Ellie Bellie! Now there are more nuks for Baby Jack and Baby Lily! Although Jack might need to give his nuks to the Nukie Fairy soon, too. You'll have to teach him how.

  • Some funny things I say

Submitted by Eliana on Mon, 04/25/2011 - 10:58pm

Sometimes I say things the wrong way and it makes my family laugh, especially William. He asks me to say it again and again. My mommy wonders if I don't keep saying it wrong just to make him keep laughing. Here are some recent ones:

Did you know that "Jesus dived on the cross?"

"Elianas don't like chickens and chickens don't like Elianas."

William wanted to know how old you had to be to drink wine. I said, "I don't like whined."

My imagination is also growing. Here is a video of me telling the story of Sleeping Kitty (this happens to be the Hello Kitty version of the popular fairy tale Sleeping Beauty - I love both versions) using my new fairy tale castle that I got from the Easter bunny. Don't miss the brief appearance of Princess Lea Ellie after the story.

  • Caiden and the Monster!

Submitted by Eliana on Sat, 03/26/2011 - 10:01pm

I bet you didn't realize how many monsters we have chasing us at my house! It is really dangerous! The other day Mommy and I had to jump in the car and race as quickly as we could (to Target) to get away from the monster that was chasing us. Don't worry, we made it! And so did Caiden. We were all buckled in safely in the van and we got away. Caiden likes to ride in the back seat. But he didn't come into the store with us. He waited in the car and when we came out, he was asleep. On the way home I made sure Mommy drove really slowly so we didn't wake Caiden.

You might be interested in checking out the photo album for the latest pictures of me. I got a new raincoat and umbrella that match my Hello Kitty rain boots. And they were a really good deal! (The first raincoat I found was too expensive. 'Expensive' is one of the newest words in my vocabulary along with 'artificial' since we gave up artificial colors for Lent.) There is also a collage of me trimming the grass that I planted at ECFE class a couple weeks ago. I had been waiting and waiting to do that!

  • And it's back

    Skinny snowman & pet snowballs

The snow was gone. I was enjoying playing in the puddles and seeing the grass again. And now, in one night, it's all back! I was still happy to go out and play. Not William. He was pretty sad about the grass. But he eventually followed us out and had fun anyway. Mommy thought we'd finally be able to build a really big snowman with all that heavy, wet snow. It hasn't been sticky enough all winter. But it turned out not to be so sticky after all and we had to collect snowballs instead. Our snowman turned out pretty skinny and kept falling down, but we got it built. I also found one snowball that I made my pet and I carried it everywhere with me.

    The spectator's lounge

The most fun thing Mommy built was a fort with seats in it. The snow was so heavy and packed that she just shoveled benches in the snow bank and we could sit on them! Mom and Dad tried to say it was just for them to watch us play on the big snow hill, but we insisted on having seats in it, too. William and I played there for a long time even after Mom and Dad left because their butts got cold. It was fun to have the snow back again for a little while. And when it melts, it will mean more puddles!
