  • Spike Bug

Submitted by William on Tue, 01/24/2012 - 12:00pm

I made a pentominos collosus. I named it Spike Bug. It took up 165 square inches! Spike Bug is made with all of the pentominos!

    pentomino spike bug

I did geometry, like area, perimeter, counting sides, and I made two ways to make a big shape out of three pentominos. Pentominos are fun!

The end. That is a true story.

  • The Fortress: A ghost story

Submitted by William on Sat, 10/15/2011 - 6:25pm

Once upon a Lego, there was a dance show. After everyone was asleep, a magic wift of secret went through Lego City and it hit a Lego City gun and the stage, recorder, and the camera. The stage, recorder, and the camera came alive. They all connected and then the massive machine (called the Fortress) shot off a guy in Lego City's head.

    The Fortress

    Headless Guy

And then the gun turned around and it shot a ray at the Garden of Glow. It lifted the Garden of Glow up and threw it off the edge of Lego City. That's when it turned around two times back to its ray and shot the headless Lego guy with its ray quickly. And then (here's the scary part) the headless guy came alive! The next day, the Lego City guys built up the Garden of Glow and with 20 more Lego guys, they lifted up the Garden of Glow and put it back in its place. That's when the headless Lego guy came out the first morning. It hid behind the Garden of Glow's garden.

    Lego city

EPILOGUE: A Lego guy came that night to examine the tracks and it found the guy's head! It brought it back to the Garden of Glow and threw the head on the guy. It fit! And Lego City wasn't haunted anymore.

THE END. That is a false story. (But it's true that I made it up.)

  • Maximus / Max / Gunner

Submitted by William on Fri, 09/30/2011 - 8:08pm

Meet our new dog. I call him Max. Mom calls him Maximus. And he was first at the Humane Society December of 2010 as a new puppy and that's when he was called Gunner. I treat him like he is in toyland because he basically really is in toyland! Sometimes I throw all of his toys all over the living room floor. He came with all those toys, and detangling spay for dogs, a poop bag dispenser, a kennel, a brush, another brush, a comb, food, two dishes, a bell for him to ring when he goes outside, a collar, a leash, a blanket, and a microchip. He is a really good dog. I like that his other name was Gunner (which sounds really tough). He is a talented dog. When I hold a toy up high where he can't reach, he jumps up really high and gets it! His eyes are brown, his nose is brown, his fur is mostly white, but there's a little bit of light brown. The end. That is a true story.

  • My lego game: crawl, jump, destroy

Submitted by William on Fri, 09/09/2011 - 10:47am

I made a lego game. It has bridges to crawl under, a hurtle to jump over, and rocks to destroy. Here are the rules:

The object of the game: To get the treasures from the people that stole them.

What's better than a Lego game?

Story of the game: Once you were swimming and you had four treasures and you were swimming with two more guys. Then, all of a sudden, you dropped them. And somebody just popped up with a gun and shot a guy and then stole the treasures. The two guys that are remaining are The Black Lord and Mister Brown. They were anxious to go on their mission. But when they started off to find their treasures, the guy that stole their treasures, separated the treasures, and put them with different guys in different places. One guy was in the desert. One guy was in the grasslands. And the last guy was in the forest. The captain was in the forest. The captain was named Lord William.

How to play: Black Lord is all black and gets black hero pack. Mister Brown wears all brown and has brown hair, since I couldn't find a brown hero pack I just used a red. So you roll the die and whatever color you land on, that's which way to go. So if you roll the yellow, you get to go under the yellow bridge. If you roll red, you can choose to go on the red path. The red path leads to the first treasure. When you get into the desert level, you have to roll red to destroy the red rock. And then you have to roll yellow to jump over the yellow hurtle. And then you have to roll yellow again to destroy the yellow rock. And you have to roll red again to destroy the red rock. You have to roll red again to go under the red bridge. You have to roll grey to defeat the guys and get the treasures. So if you don't roll grey, too bad, you don't get the treasures. If you get the treasures you have to roll red again to under another red bridge and roll grey to get into the forest because there's a bridge blocking you from getting into the forest. When you get in the forest there is a blue rock and if you guess correct, you have to roll blue to get past it. There is a portal in the forest and you have to roll grey because it makes you go past a yellow rock automatically. And there's a fence. You have to get grey to defeat the fence. Then there's another guy and he set up a force field and the force field is guarding your most important thing that you dropped: your time traveler. Roll grey to defeat him and roll grey to shut down the force field and they you get the time traveler and win!

Items: When you destroy people, you get their items.
gun: lets you destroy people even if you don't roll grey
jet pack: lets you take out two things in one roll
key: lets you go across levels, like unlocking a different level without even doing anything to the obstacles

  • Camping! / My birthday!

Submitted by William on Wed, 08/24/2011 - 12:42pm

Camping: When we started camping, we set up the Taj Mahal of tents. As you see in the picture, that's what it looks like:

It's big and blue and it's kind of like an igloo except it's a tent. And it has one opening and then another opening inside. You can make it have two rooms! When we got done, we swept the tent and set up the beds. My two favorite parts of camping were the Bakugan quizzes and having pancakes. The pancakes on the campfire were so awesome! The quiz questions were what the Bakugan's attributes mean. For example, Haos means light and Pyrus means fire.

My birthday: My favorite present was Heroica, the new game! You don't set it up the whole way. Parts of it come in different boxes. I got Waldurk. Waldurk is a forest. The mission is to get the cup and you win. There are magic doors. They make you travel to any dark gray space. And another magic door, which looks like a giant, blue ax, are blocking you from the cup. And blocking those are werewolves! I also got Dragonoid Colossus, a big, giant Bakugan that you combine six bakugan to make. This is me and Dad building Dragonoid Colossus:

My cupcakes were chocolate frosting and chocolate chip. For example, you can call them chocolatey chocolate cupcakes.

    What's your favorite Bakugan attribute?

  • My story/My squirrel, Talented/My magic fish

Submitted by William on Fri, 07/22/2011 - 2:16pm

    My story:

Once there was a old old old lady (that was already dead.) One day, it was raining from the sun. "Let's go play in the snow," said the old old old lady. So they jumped happily in a pile of leaves.
The end. That is a false story.

    My squirrel talented:

    Talented squirrel
    I'm not gonna move!

I have a squirrel named Talented. It can jump up from the railing of the deck to the bird feeder hanging from our roof. He can also hang upside down from our bird feeder. One day he put on a bird food eating show where he just hung upside down and grabbed bird food and ate it. But then Mom banged on the window and he jumped down and jumped back up. He really is talented, huh? The end. That is a true story.

    My magic fish:

    Talking fish in action

My magic fish is magic and I'm not going to tell anybody how it works. You have to guess. It talks in a deep voice. He sometimes repeats people because he likes to. The end. That is a true story.

  • Our Trip to Arkansas

Submitted by William on Sun, 06/05/2011 - 4:17pm

Look at the map. Do you see that thick line? That's where we went. We went from Minnesota to Arkansas. Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, and then Arkansas! Here's some facts about the states that are in the middle, which are Iowa and Missouri. Here are the facts:
#1 When we went to Iowa, we stayed at a hotel.

#2 When we were done with Missouri, it was only a little ways to go to get to our cousins' house.

Vroom-vroom! We're at our cousins' house! They are outside playing! I'll go play on the playground. I'll swing on the swing. Whee!

It's time to go to bed. Zzzzzzzz.

It's morning! I'll go have breakfast. I'll have rice krispies. Yum! Parker wakes up the earliest in his family. I wake up when Parker does.

I like their dog, Bella. I like Jordan, too. Jordan is the nice kitty, Lilly is the mean kitty. You can tell which one is Jordan by her color. Jordan is gray and Lilly is black, white, and light brown.

Let's go outside! Auntie Leah is making a happy place out of a box. We can go in it all the time. We'll color it - chht, chht, chht. (That's the sound of the markers.) The markers are red, black, pink and dark pink/hot pink.

Parker has a birthday party. I get a ball and a squirt gun. We eat cake outside and swim in their hot tub and pool and we play with our squirt guns.

Now we are going fishing. My dad and I first put a cricket on the hook. We catch nothing! We put a worm on it. We catch a fish! Abi pretends to be fish duty - she is watching for fish. Faith is on bait duty - she is giving bait to everybody. I am on fish duty, too. I saw a fish, but nobody caught it. And then dad catches another fish! Two fish now. We see a water snake! It is swimming by the rocks. My uncle John tries to catch it, but first he didn't catch it. Then he wrapped the line around its neck, but he didn't catch it. Too bad. We dump the two fish out and go back to our cousins' house.

It's time to go home. We bring Abi. She sleeps over at our house for one night. And then between 9 and 9:30 Grandma Barb gets here to pick up Abi and brings her to her house.

We go see Abi and go on a boat ride and swim in the Mississippi River. P.S. Eliana calls it the Mississippi Lake.

The end. That is a true story... and long story.

  • Lots of laughter in the car

Submitted by William on Sat, 05/14/2011 - 3:39pm

Eliana started singing "The Itsy Bitsy Spider" and then she went on to "You Are My Sunshine" and we laughed and laughed and laughed. Even Eliana laughed. It went like this:
The itsy bitsy spider went up the water spout.
Down came the rain and washed the spider out.
Out came the sun and dried up all the rain.
And the itsy bitsy spider climbed up the spout again
... with raindrops on his head.

    You are my sunshine,
    My only sunshine.
You make me happy when skies are grey.
You'll never know, Dear, how much I love you.
Please don't take my sunshine away.

Now I start singing "You Are My Moonshine." It goes like this:
    You are my moonshine.
    My only moonshine.
You make me happy when ...
(You can make up what to sing next.)
