Eliana's Blog

  • Ellie's faith

Submitted by Eliana on Sun, 03/17/2013 - 6:28pm

Sara here, posting on Eliana's blog as she watches a movie. I had a couple good stories from the last 24 hours, so I thought I'd post them on Ellie's blog rather than my own.

Ellie is a very faithful little girl. Last night during bedtime prayers she asked God to "help Daddy to stop watching sports on tv." She wanted to watch How It's Made on Netflix.

This morning at church, Pastor Brad was announcing the upcoming Seder meal. He described that we would be eating a meal together just as Jesus did with his disciples the night before he died. Eliana pipes up loudly, "Bread?!? YUM!" (Yeah, she still struggles with being quiet during church.)

Our church has collected crosses from all the members to hang in the sanctuary during Lent. They are all on the wall behind the altar. During children's message today, I saw Ellie stand up and remain standing the entire time. When she returned to her seat, I understood why. She immediately told me that she found HER cross, that usually hangs on her bedroom wall.

Which reminds me of another recent children's message...
A few weeks ago, Pastor Paul was asking the kids what they thought it would be like when we meet Jesus. Ellie raised her hand and told Pastor Paul all about the second coming. It sounded exactly like the Bible reading that was read minutes later. Out of the mouths of babes.

  • Fuzzy Wuzzy

Submitted by Eliana on Thu, 09/13/2012 - 8:35pm

I'm learning a new poem. I think it goes like this:

    Fuzzy Wuzzy was a bear
Fuzzy Wuzzy didn't have any hair
    Fuzzy Wuzzy wasn't fluffy... RIGHT?!?!

  • Going to Arkansas

Submitted by Eliana on Fri, 09/07/2012 - 12:02pm

I love Abi and Faith, Parker, Leah, and John. And I love the flowers they have. I really know them. They are our cousins. They live far away in Arkansas. I super duper love them. And I really, really love them! We got to sleep over four nights. And we got to sleep at the hotel for one night. We got to swim and I went down the water slide with Daddy. It was very fun! It was supposed to be a beautiful day and we got to swim in Abi, Faith and Parker's grandma's lake two times! We got to see the Arkansas rocks. The end.

  • Olympics!

Submitted by Eliana on Sat, 08/11/2012 - 8:28pm

We have been watching the summer Olympics a lot. We have been watching "Minnesota" win gold medals. Today we were watching the sport of "diving off a cliff." We were also watching rhythmic gymnastics. I am certain that I could do those things if I just had the right ball or floor mat. There are a lot of commercials during the Olympics. I learned how to sing the song, "I just want to be okay." (Did you know "tobeokay means 'Christmas' in French?") The first night of the Olympics were the opening ceremonies. Mom made Olympic rings on our pizza and we had a picnic in the living room while we watched them. I hope you are having fun watching the Olympics. "Go USA!"

  • Fantastic Fairies theater camp

Submitted by Eliana on Fri, 07/27/2012 - 4:30pm

We colored our own pictures when I was at theater camp. I colored a princess. I colored a tower. And we made wings. And we made crowns. But we didn't make wands. They pulled off pieces of golden pipe cleaners that were on headbands, they put them beside us, and they twisted them up and then they became wands with little golden balls on them. On the last day of theater camp, we hided and then we goed out and showed our mothers and daddies our wings and our crowns and our wands. We sang: "Do you know what fairies do? We sprinkle them with pixie dust and make a special wish." The End. That's my story!

[Eliana didn't have any comments about this video. I believe it speaks for itself. She is quite a proud little budding reader!]

  • Dancing girl

Submitted by Eliana on Sat, 02/18/2012 - 8:40pm

I was dancing in front of the tv when the songs were singing. And I was in a white dress.
(Watch this video before it gets flagged and removed for copyrighted content. Hopefully the sound of dishes in the background will disguise the music.)

  • Ballerina

  • Imagination

Submitted by Eliana on Sun, 11/13/2011 - 10:01pm

Today while we were driving in the car, I was counting... "1, 2, 3, 4, 7." Mommy and William tried to tell me that I meant "5." But I straightened them out. I declared, "Hey! I have an imagination!"

After learning from William's friend Ivy at church this morning that boys are "'gusting" (what does 'gusting mean?), I decided that my room is for girls only. I am sad about Daddy. He is a boy, so he can't come in my room. Neither can Michael or Skippyjon Jones [today's favorite book character]. But William can come in to jump on my bed.

This evening William and I were playing clowns. William called us the "Undies." That's funny, right? We wear silly things on our heads like pillows, pencils, and roses tied with ribbons. We put on funny shows. I might include some of my great [completely random] knock-knock jokes in the show. They always make my family laugh.

  • Important announcement!

Submitted by Eliana on Thu, 09/22/2011 - 12:40pm

Cheese is having a baby! Cheese is my new friend. He is a fly. Nevermind that he is a boy having a baby, he is a grown-up. Cheese is having a baby after lunch.

[Editor's note: Based on the sheer number of times she has repeated this announcement, I decided it was worthy of its own blog post.]
